  1. Are you half-Korean? A few weeks ago your gravatar had your real pic for a short period and you didn't look Korean. You looked half-Korean. Just wondering.

  2. I can't understand why someone would have such bitterness about English Teachers in Korea. We're talking about 1) college educated 2) middle class 3) peopl interested in experiencing new cultures. This is probably the least threatening immigrant ground I can even imagine.

Back when I lived in Seoul with my parents (I'm Korean-American, raised in America, but travelled back a bit) every English teacher I met was pretty great. They are mostly educated, slightly nerdy, people who are saving money to go to graduate school, or are long term professional teachers getting a new experience. When I see silly racist things like this online, I just think you can't have actually known anyone like this and just let rumor take hold of your heart.

The prostitution thing seems especially odd. There is a lot of prostitution in Seoul, much more than any place I have been in the USA. Actually, I don't really mind this, but calling it a foreigner thing is really silly. The foreigners are actually less likely to be involved because it makes them uncomfortable and many places turn away foreign customers.

Also "why bamboo island must be liberated"? Nobody except Koreans and Japanese know anything about Dokdo. The foreigners in Seoul only hear the Korean argument so they mostly are on Korea's side if they care at all.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, you have a wrong idea about these people. You shouldn't be so spiteful about people you do not know just because you read something bad. People are always just people, no different than us.

  3. "You looked half-Korean."

    Pawi's mother was a prostitute.
Pawi was fathered by a US soldier stationed in Korea.

That is why Pawi hates prostitutes and foreigners.
